Everyone else just see the surfaces

I went back to Wolverhampton this weekend, and trained on the Friday in wolvo and Saturday in brum. Feeling almost 100% after injuring my knees, and had a level of confidence back. I met two women, one who had just started training, the other had started a while ago, but had been out due to injury. Both Kirsty and Justine impressed me with there mentality and movements. Hopefully they will carry on training in Birmingham regularly and I look forward to training with them again when I'm next down. As I felt much better I thought I would film a few things on Saturday morning, which turned into enough for a little video. I know i have poor technique on laches, I wanted them filmed to see how bad they were, hear advice, and see improvement.

Wolvo bits

Should be moving back to Sheffield in about two weeks. So when i was training in Wolverhampton, I thought I'd record a few clips as memories there. Until my phone died, and I hurt my knee.

Long time & Lisses

Its been a while since i posted anything new. Mainly because my computers slow now and wont save videos that i have edited, So if i couldn't put those up, i didn't feel like putting anything else. There's a little London video of Rui's b'day, and a Wolverhampton day training video of Paddy and myself, that will be up when i buy a new PC.

There isn't much chance of any kind of Lisses video as my camcorder was stolen while i was there, with some nice footage on it :(
So unless i put the few clips Tom filmed, and a few pictures then theres nothing.

However, The rest of the trip went well.
Over all we cycled 272 miles, in about 4 and a half days. We were lucky with the weather, only rained a little bit one day while ridding, the rest came at night when we were in the tent. When in Lisses most the days were sunny, with two being 30°C. We went to Paris twice to look around the sites, the other 7 days we stayed we trained and rested in Lisses and Evry. Took a few days to be comfortable using legs after cycling, but no major set backs.
When it came to leaving, we had decided to get the train back through England, and as it was raining on the day we left, stayed on a train/bus halfway over France, so all we needed to do was Cycle around 30 miles to the port in the morning and get the ferry.
When back, i stayed a few days at Toms and trained in Cambridge for a day, which was sweet.

Thats bout all, got about seven weeks of my summer left, before going back to Uni in Sheffield. Few things to do, waiting to take my driving test, try and visit my mom in Spain, write up stuff for Uni and lots of training :D

2nd ride

Sexy??

Did 15 miles tonight. Took me 1hr 45 min tho. Which isn't great. Took the hills harder tho, hope most of the way to Paris is level ish. Brought more gear on Tuesday, sun glasses, cycling shorts and jersey. Definitely made a difference to the comfort of the ride. That's about it. Oh and thinking about gloves.. ??
Not because hands get sore, calluses are fine, but hands get sweaty.

lil day vid

Just a little day training video I made last month in Wolverhampton. Nothing special.

Cycling to lisses

For some reason I've never got round to creating a blog. Maybe because i didn't think i had enough to write about. Or that it wasn't worth reading. But Now i have something to start with.

Myself and my good ol' chum Tom have decided to cycle to Lisses in July. Starting from Cambridge the trip one way is around 350 miles. Which were hoping to complete in around a week (Then staying a few days and returning). Allot of thought is going into the route, places to sleep, equipment to take and food to eat along the way. Which at the moment I can't be bothered to write about.

This evening i rode a little under 13 miles as a test run on my new bike, finished in an hour and 15 min (Avg 10mph). It was a nice promising start, i thought i would be more tired after. Considering I haven't really rode a bike in over 5 years. Although i may still have a surprise tomorrow morning.

Some ideas i need to think about. Sunglasses seem like a nice option (as well as the obvious they keep bugs out of the eyes), and even after this distance the sadle started to get a little uncofortable. Something to watch out for when i do a longer ride.

Thats bout it for now.
